Abstract
The introduction of autonomous vehicles (VAs) has the potential to change many aspects of society and constitutes a shift in the automotive industry. Interest in autonomous vehicles has been growing over the last few years. These vehicles have robust and sophisticated systems for perceiving the surrounding environment and are also very accurate at optimizing paths and avoiding possible obstacles. As autonomous driving technologies advance and become increasingly integrated into everyday life, it is essential to understand the consumer's perspective on the decision to adopt autonomous vehicles. This study therefore seeks to understand consumers' perceptions and decision-making processes when they consider adopting autonomous vehicles. With that purpose, a questionnaire was carried out to understand consumer perceptions and concerns regarding the adoption of these vehicles. Consumer attitudes are not only shaped by the perceived benefits of autonomous vehicles, but are also influenced by concerns related to safety, comfort, trust in the technology and even their environmental impacts. By analyzing these factors, we aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of the consumer’s perspective towards autonomous vehicles.| Date of Award | 24 Jul 2024 |
