The business world is constantly evolving, and companies are facing increasingly complex and unpredictable challenges. In this context, the Agile philosophy emerged in software industries, aiming to respond, and overcome these obstacles, and quickly expanded to other sectors. It offers companies an approach characterized by its concern for collaboration between multifunctional teams, flexibility in response to changes, focusing on the value delivered to the customer, and continuous improvement. There is still a gap in the literature regarding its applicability in retail industries, which is the main objective of this dissertation that allows us to answer the question “Challenges of Agile implementation in retail: The case of a non-food retail company.” In order to respond to this, interviews were conducted with employees of a multinational company in the non-food retail sector that implemented Agile methodologies in two different projects. In one project, the implementation brought positive results and agility to the team, while in the other there were numerous obstacles to the correct transformation to Agile. This discrepancy allowed for a reflection on the characteristics that can influence the success or failure of Agile in retail companies. Any transformation to a company’s modus operandi and objectives requires significant structural change, training commitment, dedication, and involvement of all employees. In this transformation, it becomes imperative to evaluate results, the satisfaction of the individuals involved, and the achievement of the goal, which is customer satisfaction.
