Abstract

This report sets out the route made along the course: Report (held at the National Institute of Medical Emergency and Intensive Care Unit of the Hospital of the Lower Vouga - Unit of Aveiro), as recommended in the syllabus of the Master in Nursing with Speaciality in Medical Surgical Nursing of Institute of Health Sciences of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Porto. This reveals the personal and professional growth while future Specialist Nurse in Medical-Surgical Nursing, and the great learnings that praise this course are: the improvement of critical and reflective capacity, increased awareness and implementation of measures about infection prevent and control, the skills improvement on clinical supervision and the development of technical and human skills in assisting the critically ill patient and his family. As contributions of this climbing emphasize the proposal for intervention about infection prevent and control in the pre-hospital, the procedure of ophthalmic care and the proposal about a structural change of oral hygiene in critically ill patients, opinion articles, concerning the call to the number 112, published in local newspapers, and the development of an integrative review presented as a scientific article about the ophthalmic care to critically ill patients. The report followed the descriptive and reflective methodology and is structured in four chapters to facilitate your query, demonstrating the gains made in the path of the intership. There is the reflection of activities and skills acquired through mobilization and operation of knowledge and exposure of professional learning.
