Abstract

This paper proposes to apply Design Thinking in Software Requirements Specification and to describe the results achieved. The methodology used was based on the method of Design Science Research and the model of Design Thinking proposed by the Hasso Plattner Institute. The two methods together resulted in a workshop in “i2S – Insurance Knowledge” company. The workshop fulfilled, aimed to find the problem and a possible solution to the documentation of requirements specifications actually used by i2S, through the application of Design Thinking method. After the workshop it was concluded that Design Thinking allows the people involved to face the problem differently from what they are used to. The aim of this paper was achieved because it allows identifying the problem and finding possible solutions for it.
