Being a fundamental need of man in adulthood, marriage is considered an affective and emotional investment between two people. This study aimed to investigate the association between marital satisfaction and some determinants of the same, as happiness, subjective well-being, personality and sexual satisfaction. This is a quantitative correlation to a sample of 136 adults. Were used as instruments to assess the Sociodemographic Questionnaire, the Rating Scale Areas of Life Satisfaction in Marriage, the Index Wellness Personal, the Scale About Happiness and the Personality Inventory NEO-FFI. The main results reveal that individuals have happier more satisfied in areas of marital life, as in extra-familial relationships, continuity of relationship, communication and conflict management, feelings and their expression, sexuality and emotional intimacy. We also verified that the subjective well-being is associated with how individuals generate conflict, better communication and greater emotional intimacy. However, is not associated with family roles and leisure. Sexual satisfaction is strongly associated with marital satisfaction, and the variable that has the greatest association. On the other hand, there appear to be significant gender differences regarding marital satisfaction, the degree of happiness, subjective well-being, personality and sexual satisfaction
