This dissertation aims at investigating which managing control difficulties and obstacles are faced by Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) consortia leaders in administrating the founds. The existing literature emphasises the importance of selecting the companies as a key factor in accomplishing goals successfully as well as the importance of choosing the right managing control mechanisms, such as KPI’S, goals and actions. In this dissertation, a qualitative approach was defined and four national companies, which are leaders of the main PRR consortia, were selected, applying semi-structured interviews to the people responsible for each Agenda. The results demonstrate that the companies’ experience in former consortia, such as these ones, can be very important to their success. However, it was also possible to verify that the main difficulties are related to weak communication between the parts involved and the constant changing of rules or the implementation of new ones when the processes are ongoing. This thesis contributes to the existing literature supplying a wider practical perspective of the importance of the managing control mechanisms in projects which involve a high number of companies which must report to official entities.
