The purpose of this dissertation is to investigate how wine companies can use technologies tocreate value and competitive advantages for their businesses. I also seek to study how luxury wines, with their distinctive characteristics, can be affected by these technologies. To answer my research question, I conducted a case study with three companies: Placido Volpone, Cartuxa, and Sogrape. The findings indicate that, first, technologies undoubtedly have an enormous weight in the management of the entire wine company, and, secondly, it is the level of integration of these technologies that will define the company's competitiveness.
