Abstract

The present meta-analysis aims to understand how gender wage gap is connected to other gender-selected inequalities in public and private organizations. The study drew on 30 articles and followed the Prisma Protocol. Results suggest that regardless of the legislation, the Patriarchal model still affects European organizations. For example, gender stereotypes are one of the causes of wage differences between men and women. While in most EU countries public organizations are deemed to be more favorable to women, in Portugal the opposite seems to happen. However, gender inequalities are still widespread across public and private organizations. This is a field where human resource managers must intervene to follow gender equity and well-being of women.
