This paper aims to evaluate the Spanish food retail company, Distribuidora Internacional de Alimentacion, DIA, and ultimately set a price target and a buy/sell recommendation. In order to complete this goal the state of the art of valuation was discussed by briefly describing the different valuation models, in order to access the most accurate method to evaluate DIA. Furthermore, both DIA’s historical financials and future strategy were deeply analyzed and a set of consistent projections constructed. Using the sum of parts method together with the multiples analysis, a target price of €7,6 was computed, suggesting that the stock is undervalued in the market, with a potential upside of 36%. Finally, the estimations and results, presented is this paper, were compared with an analyst’s report from Morgan Stanley.
