According to the investigation (Bastos,1998; Almeida et al., 1999), the entry into the university is, for the young adult, a time of great demand and personal investment. The transition from secondary to the university corresponds to the initial moment of a decisive life project for the majority of the university students, confronting them with numerous challenges and changes, namely the separation of family and friends, the adaptation to a number of new tasks and personal, social and school requirements (Seco, Casimiro, Pereira, Dias & Custódio, 2005; Seco, Dias, Pereira, Casimiro & Custódio, 2007). So, when entering the university, the student faces several challenges, such as establishing new interpersonal relationships, fitting into a new academic and intellectual context, succeeding and meeting the expectations of the entry into the university. Facing this assumption is the main incentive for this study. In fact, with this study, we want to understand, from the perspective of former students, what influence the frequency of college education in the school in question had on its academic performance in the university. To this end, it was applied a questionnaire to 96 former students of the alpha school, who are currently attending medical school. The results of the study show that these same students successfully joined the university recognizing the role of the alpha school as fundamental for their adaptation.
