The European Union and Russian Federation have always had an up-and-down relationship, largely due to their opposing policies. Their energy policies are also different since the European Union depends on Russian energy. The problem is that the environment is harmed by the energy issue, since Russian Federation supplies Europe with non-renewable energy, energy that harms the environment and the world. Environmental measures have been taken to try to improve the direction the environment is taking, and the European Green Deal has emerged. This pact is being treated as a European priority; however, it has already had some fewer good phases, due to the war in Ukraine and the West's position towards Russian Federation. The question "How do EU sanctions on Russia influence the European Green Deal?" will be answered through this dissertation.
