Abstract

Creativity is now a subject that entangles a full debate in academia for its importance in today's society. However, only in recent years did we begin to widely discuss the importance of implementing and developing creativity in schools in order to enhance the skills of creative thinking in students. This internship report presents some perspectives and approaches to creativity, in its relation with education, starting from the initial concept of competence. The present study aimed to further assess the impact and effectiveness of didactic and pedagogical strategies that lead to the development of creative thinking skills in students. To this end, we evaluated and compared the creative potential of two study groups, consisting of students on the 10th grade; we collected a convenience sample consisting of 45 subjects, aged between 15 and 18 (M = 15.69 years old) (SD = 0.66). The Test for Creative Thinking - Drawing Production (TCT-DP) was used as an evaluation measurement by Urban & Jellen (1996). It was found that there were statistically significant differences between the experimental group and the control group for the total TCT-DP, with the subjects in the experimental group presenting higher average scores of creativity.
