This scientific report was prepared based on professional practise with sudents with special education needs in their transition to adulthood. The theoretical part is based on a bibliographic review on the above subject. We addressed the conceptual evolution and the state of aknowledge regarding mental disability (MD) pointing to the bottom of a new paradigm, that perceives people with MD into an ecological perspective. The terminological evolution headed into a less restrictive sense and in detriment of limitations, has proliferate more frequently to the term intelectual deficit. Secondly we reflected about the inclusion issue either in school or in society addressing then to the Conception of individual specific curriculum (CEI) / functional curriculum which includes the individual transition plan for active life. Finally we present a sucessful case of a transition to adulthood, of a young woman with MD.
