Abstract

This work represents a theoretically grounded Reflective Report, prepared within the framework of the Master of Educational Sciences, Faculty of Education and Psychology at the Portuguese Catholic University, Porto. Based on an exercise of reflective memory on our professional experience as a teacher, we decided to highlight the importance of school as a place of social hospitality par excellence. To this end, we worked to a framework of analysis essentially grounded in science education, particularly in Social Pedagogy as a discipline that fit the training in a lifelong perspective of social solidarity .In the contemporary a society, Social Pedagogy is presented as a fruitful area of investigation and intervention, providing precious reading clues about the reality of the school where today imposes the requirement of living together in an environment of mutual care and recognition. In this sense , this paper is divided into two main parts , the first devoted to reflection on the career path and the second study focused mainly in the school , both being buoyed by the value of hospitality esteemed here as an anthropological category .
