The aim of this study is to identify the dimensions that affect bank employees' perception of their current activity and obligations, as well as their satisfaction and commitment. This will be assessed by analyzing the following dimensions: artificial intelligence, work-life balance, remuneration and incentives, job burnout and family support policies. To assess the relationships between the variables, an online questionnaire was made available, and a total of 115 valid responses were obtained. The data was analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation System (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that family support policies are the variable with the greatest positive impact on employees' levels of job satisfaction and commitment to the bank. Job satisfaction has a positive and decisive effect on the levels of commitment to the banking organization developed by its employees, with a partial mediating effect. Work-life balance and job burnout prove to have an impact, positively influencing commitment to the banking organization. The data also suggests that artificial intelligence, remuneration, and incentives are not significant variables in analyzing job satisfaction in banking. This study is innovative in that it introduces new topics to the analysis of bank employees' perceptions of their duties and activities as well as their satisfaction and commitment, expanding on the findings of previous research into job satisfaction and commitment to credit institutions in the Portuguese banking sector. The results can be used to implement new policies, helping banking institutions to define strategies aimed at attracting and retaining new and/or existing human resources that meet the expectations of their employees, reinforcing satisfaction and commitment and increasing productivity.
