This dissertation aims to understand how Portuguese companies dealt with the emerging issue of mental health at work during the pandemic. For this purpose, a case study was conducted to identify possible responses from Portuguese companies based on an analysis of the relevance and receptiveness to the “Toolkit para empresas: saúde mental em contexto laboral”, developed by GRACE – empresas responsáveis, for its approximately 200 Associates. From the response of twenty-seven Associates to the online survey it was concluded that: a) the main pressure factors were confinement and quarantines and the perception of insecurity, threat and risk of contagion; b) the most positive moderating factors were teleworking and government programmes and measures and the most negative were the medical history of mental health and the perception of vulnerability of physical health; c) the most commonly used mitigating measures were managing telework and preventing social isolation, as well as developing a return-to-work plan. It also seems possible to state that the new ethical challenges that emerged in this period are related to fear, namely fear of the virus, fear of the unknown and fear about mental balance, but also to equity and work/ family reconciliation. It was concluded that GRACE, through this Toolkit, has given answer(s) to the emerging problem of mental health in the workplace
