Abstract

The final master's work aims to respond to the following research question "Given the social, economic and environmental concerns inherent in the Circular Economy and Sharing Economy, what impact do these characteristics have on consumer choice?", which is the guideline of the entire dissertation. The objectives defined are a way to respond to the question and they are essentially based on the characterization of the Circular Economy and Economy of Sharing, their respective benefits and relation between both, adding a focus on the motivations of the clients, that is, the reasons that lead them to take advantage of sharing business. In order to answer the question and the objectives, a bibliographical review was carried out, in which a general overview of the themes is presented, according to several authors that are important in the areas in analyse. The Sharing Economy topic essentially highlights two well-known business examples: Uber and Airbnb. As an exploratory study and as a complement to the bibliographic review, a questionnaire was conducted in order to collect primary data that produced answers related to the previously objectives defined. In general, the proposed objectives were, after analysis, answered and it was concluded that the motivations of the customers in the use of Sharing Economy Business have a positive relation with the benefits that characterize the Circular Economy, being the factors that most influence the choice of the individual the cost, the reduction of waste and the reuse of goods that are not being used at the time.
