The procedures of renal scintigraphy in nuclear medicine are widely used and of great importance for diagnostic purposes. Renal scintigraphy with DMSA allows the evaluation of the functionality of renal parenchyma, through the calculation of the differential renal function, as well as detecting urinary tract infections, malfunctions and renal scarring. Thus, the main objectives are to compare the differential renal function in a quantitative way between dynamic and static images (corrected and not corrected) using two types of ROIs (regions of interest) - square and irregular - and to evaluate the display or not of renal scars between dynamic and static images. In this study, were considered 96 patients who requested the renal scintigraphy with DMSA. Their ages were between 0 and 15 years old with different pathologies. The differential renal function was calculated using XELERIS, in order to collect the corresponding values used in the area and counts of ROI and background. Regarding the display of the scars, alternating dynamic and static images of patients were shown to reach a diagnosis (with or without renal scarring). In respect to differential renal function using ROIs square, it was found that there were no significative differences between images not corrected and the average of dynamic images and images not corrected and corrected. However, between the corrected images and the average of dynamic images there were significative differences. Using irregular ROIs, were not found significative differences between the average of dynamic images and the static images as in the corrected and not corrected images. In the visualization of the scars there was a 63% coincidence in the diagnosis – with or without renal scarring – between static and dynamic images and 100% amongst the correct and not corrected images.
