Abstract

Objectives: To evaluate the evolution of the implant stability quotient (ISQ) after immediate implant placement until final restoration and to compare success or failure by loading decisions made on the basis of ISQ readings. Materials and methods: A retrospective clinical study was performed on a convenience sample of patients treated with dental implants (Anyridge, MegaGen Implant, Daegu, South Korea) placed immediately after tooth extraction from October 2022 to December 2022. Patients with systemic bone diseases, smokers, pregnant women, and/or those stating that they are on medications that potentially alter bone metabolism were excluded. Immediate implant placement (IIP) according to the implant manufacturer's surgical protocol and ISQ1 scanning was performed with Mega ISQ II using SmartPeg model 67 in four sites (vestibular, lingual, mesial, distal). At the time of final prosthetic rehabilitation (3 months after surgery), the ISQ2 was recorded. Mean values of ISQ, demographic features and implant success rate were compared. After data were collected, the coding and insertion of the results was carried out in a database in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) versão 26.0 software. The treatment was carried out considering the objectives of the study. The statistical significance value is 5%. Results: Twenty immediate implants were placed, 9 placed in females and 11 in males. The mean ISQ1 value was 68±5,65. Immediate loading was performed on 75% of the implants placed, with 25% not having immediate loading. We obtained 95% of success in the cases performed, in 5% there was no increase in the value of ISQ1 to ISQ2. ISQ2 presented a mean value of 74±4,34, resulting in an increased ISQ value after 3 months of healing. Conclusion: A positive evolution from ISQ1 to 2 was observed in virtually all immediate implants placed. The decision to load based on ISQ values proved to be efficient.
