Abstract

This essay aims to highlight the work and to portray the work produced in the context of the curricular internship at Companhia Instável, which ran from october 2019 to april 2020, and is inserted in the syllabus of the Master Degree in Management for the Creative Industries at the School of Arts of Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP). The art of dance, until today, has undergone numerous changes. Consequently, the training of those who dance has also been changing, adapting to the changes that are present. During this research, a historical context of dance and its evolution to the present day will be evoked, namely in Portugal and in the city of Porto, as well as concepts of training, advanced training, and labor market will also be addressed. The description of the host organisation and the respective activities that compose it, as well as the diversity of projects carried out during the internship months, will be discussed below, with emphasis on the multiplicity of tasks practiced and their value to the company. In this essay, there is also a special focus on the advanced training program from Companhia Instável called FAICC - Advanced Program in Interpretation and Choreography. It is intended to study how this program enables the integration of students in the professional market, through an approach to the training context and the internal strategies that are developed.
