“Mock-documentary: editing between fiction and fact” is a thesis that aims anapproach to the editing process in this cinematic subgenera, through the editing analysisand deconstruction of some “Mock-documentary” films and the genres that in some way, belong to this audiovisual hybrid - fiction and documentary. This last two genres will bedefined also through their approach to the representation of the real.We intend to make clear what kind of editing processes reveal the formal andnarrative goals of the “Mock-documentary” films and also explore their contribution to areflexion about the codes and conventions that are established in the documentary style. We base our research not only in a theoretical way, but also through the criation of aproject named “Artur”, a “Mock-documentary” about an unknown portuguese filmmaker.
