The phenomenon of mobility has gained expression regarding the implications for the sustainability of modern cities. In order to develop services more suitable to the needs of users and to refine transport services, it is necessary to identify the preferences on the characteristics of existing vehicles. Therefore, the following research question was proposed: “What is the profile of generation Z in urban mobility in the metropolitan area of Porto?”. The present study seeks to provide answer on which is the profile of this user in terms of their preferences in the daily transport habits adopted. Hence, it was defined as objectives the identification of the valued attributes and motivations and their consequent classification in each mobility option. The literature identified as the most expressive attributes comfort, expenses, speed, safety, reliability, technology and accessibility, and as for motivations, sustainability, entertainment and government support. To answer the proposed research question, a quantitative study was conducted with the help of a questionnaire, and a qualitative study through interviews. The results obtained illustrate a preference for transport with convenience as an attribute and sustainability as the only relevant motivation. As for the ride hailing services, the preferences relapse on speed. After the conclusions drawn, it is possible to know which areas should be further reinforced by government entities and transport companies, considering the verified preferences.
