Aim: To identify risk factors associated to the development of eating disorders in males. Method: This systematic review was executed according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) (Moher et al., 2009; cf., http://www.prisma-statement.org/) guidelines. To do that, an investigation question was materialized according to the Participants, Interventions, Comparisons, Outcomes, Study design (PICOS) (Donato & Donato, 2019; Moher et al., 2009). Three databases (PubMEd, PsyArticle, Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection)were searched. Results: Eight studies were included in the SR with a total of 3278 participants, of which 1351 were men, with a sample size ranging from 10 to 1502 participants. Discussion: This SR responded to the proposed objective, identifying RF related to men. Similar to women, the etiology of PDA is multifactorial, however, it is important to give especial awareness in some RF that are more gender specific. The studies included in the RS show homogeneity and agreement regarding the etiology of eating disorders in males.
