Abstract

The concept of Father’s parental role has suffered several changes thoughout time. Traditionally it was believed that Father’s scope of action was not connected to any active participation in parental and educational action. However, as this study clearly has put into evidence, this thought is truly different, as it is notorious the effective involvement of the Father in the educational activities, as well as being a true fellowmate always present at the adolescence. Contrarily to the majority of studies within this scope, this relexion was directed to the relationship between Father and his adolescent Daughter, as counterpoint to the dyad Mother- Son (Booth & Crouter, 1998; Dienhart, 1998; Griswold, 1998; Lamb, 1997; Pruett, 1999, cit in Nielsen, 2006). As such, this investigation aimed to understand which are the Satisfaction and Stress Factors within the Paternity of adolescent daughters. Results proved that Satisfaction and Stress Factors experimented by Fathers are diversified; yet, it was also proved that the former are preponderant.
