As all peoples seek to understand their origins, the problem of the “beginning” and the “creation” gained its unique place in Cristian tradition. This research aims to record some details of this path of faith, progressively developed by the Church and its Priests during the first centuries of the Christian era, while for a second topic more attention will be given to Confessiones by St. Augustine. Being a pilgrim in this world, the restless heart (cor inquietum) of a man discovers itself as a God-s creation in search of its Creator for being the only one who can bring meaning to the existence and give rest (quies) to the man’s heart (cor). As image and resemblance of God, the man shares his Creator’s goodness and witnesses a great dignity given by the Creator before all other elements of the creation. At the time when men’s’ and women’s’ dignity are constantly questioned and reduced, we believe that it is useful to review the thought of Priest of the Church, that most importantly showed to be modern and close to all of us in his “Confessions”.
