Supervised teaching in I.T. is an element of integration and development in education, in which the value of knowledge must always consider the importance of research. The variety of tools available on the Web and current student practice are potentially relevant to understand how these technologies can be appropriated by schools in the teachinglearning process. The purpose of this study, inspired by the ongoing development of new technologies, is to understand how 9th-year students perceive and respond to Web tools in education, focusing on skills rather than contents. A qualitative methodology was used for the case study, complemented by a quantitative analysis for better understanding this study. The research techniques were participants’ observation and questionnaires. It was found that students believe web tools can be used in education, although not many are familiar with their importance and potential, and only a small number is able to carry out more sophisticated activities such as producing and publishing contents. Despite their interest in using technologies for educational purposes, students showed some reservation about more advanced uses, such as the co-construction of knowledge. It is concluded that education must focus on learning how to think, and not be limited to how to do, thus encouraging information society to become knowledge society. New technologies should, therefore, be used from a transdisciplinary perspective, in which teachers encourage and help students how to reach knowledge and how to think.
