: ligação de efluentes industriais ao colector municipal de Vila Nova de Gaia

Abstract

This master thesis was prepared as completion of a traineeship in Águas de Gaia, EEM, under the Integrated System Quality, Environment and Safety Management. We intended to study the importance of effectively managing documents seeking the proper functioning of management systems, so as to study its involvement in the process of connecting industrial wastewater to municipal collector sanitation. In this context, it was implemented a database concerning industrial wastewater connections to the sewerage network in order to ensure a fast and efficient access to all relevant information and compliance monitoring requirements associated with each plant. In order to optimize this database, we conducted a survey of the most relevant industrial activities of Vila Nova de Gaia (in terms of quantity of industrial units and hazardousness of their wastewater) and their environmental aspects. With this information collection we aimed to promote an effective screening of the possible problems when some abnormal parameter is detected in effluent treatment plants, thus promoting its fast signaling
