Abstract

This report aims to highlight the evolution potentiated by experiences in stages and publicize the activities performed in the course. The stages were specifically aimed at developing skills for advanced nursing care to the sick and elderly adults with severe disease, especially directed to assist the patient in critical condition. The Stage is inserted in the Course of Medical-Surgical Nursing, which consists of three modules: module I - ER, conducted in a Medical-Surgical Emergency Service, module II - Intermediate/Intensive Care, held in Unit Post Surgical Care and Module III - Geriatric Nursing (optional) credited by previous experience in this area . These local stage , were conducive to providing specialized care to the person in critical condition and his family, the fundamental focus from the Nurse Specialist in Medical- Surgical Nursing. The activities undertaken to achieve the goals set, allowed the development of the capacity for critical reflection and analysis of learning experiences, and skills in the specialty area. Across the two contexts stages, in current conjecture promoting patient safety, it was developed a central theme focused on risk management as a contribution to the quality of nursing care. Pair of this, others areas were worked and developed, namely the relational area, focusing on communication, in humanization care. Throughout this work, we highlighted the ability to identify problem situations, reflect and discuss various situations experienced in view of the development of skills
