Gestão, produção e comunicação numa galeria de arte

: uma experiência no sector cultural

Abstract

This report includes in detail the activities carried out and completed in the duration of the eight months of the Master's curricular internship at Galeria Belo-Galsterer and, sporadically, in Carpintarias de São Lázaro (cultural center) and Lisboa à Prova - Concurso Gastronómico. The head office of all entities mentioned is located at Rua Castilho nº71, ground floor on the left, in Lisbon; a space that encompasses the management and exhibition of contemporary art, the creative promotion of projects and cultural dissemination. The internship focused on assisting the activities carried out in the gallery with regard to the management, production and communication of GBG. For a better understanding of the work I did and the sector in which it is included, a research was made on the origin of this type of entity through the elaboration of a conceptual framework and the historical contextualization of the object under study - art galleries - and the role of curatorship in the evolution of this concept. It was established an analysis of the host entity and the two other projects mentioned above, and, then, a description of the traineeship actions was made, starting from an introductory note to the detailed squeematic explanation of the activities and tasks performed; ending with a self-assessment of the abilities retained from this experience. Finally, this report concludes itself by presenting the final considerations, where the results obtained and my personal evolution are discussed; ending with a reflection on art galleries and the cultural sector.
