Growth strategies and understanding the market trends are necessary for any growing company. For the purposes of this work, the position of Teixeira Duarte Group’s department for office refurbishment and renovation in the office market was studied as well as the current office design trends and the drivers of customer value and contract renewal in order to develop suggestions that allow financial growth. To answer the research questions, three methodologies were applied: Academic literature review, data bases analysis combined with Real Estate Agencies’ reports and qualitative analysis of Interviews with Industry Experts. The findings pointed out the impact of the pandemic in office design, the expectations and economic reality of the office markets in Lisbon and Porto, as well as the key factors in contract renewal and the importance of Experience, Technical Expertise, Price, and Identity. Finally, recommendations were presented in the form of a suggested change to a “customer intimacy” centred approach, focus on digitalization of the workspace and identifying future business opportunities.
