The organizations’ success is not only determined by its ability to define an inspired and clear strategy, but above all its execution capacity, connecting all the organization and evaluating all the steps given. (Mexia, 2009, cit. Kaplan & Norton, 2009) This dissertation aims to assess if the implementation of a range of tools and processes, based in the Execution Premium model, are effective to support the strategy implementation of EDP Gas Distribution. Thus, this study will explore if creating and applying a strategy plan to align the organization, align its improvement processes and monitor the results achieved, potentiates the opportunities of improvement identified within the organization. To achieve this aim, a case study methodology was used in which documentation analysis, interviews, meetings and informal interactions with several EDP workers were conducted. This study showed that the integrated application of this tools and processes may result in organizational upgrades in the communication strategy, organizational alignment, decision making and monitoring. Nevertheless, the interpretation of these findings should be tempered with the limitations inherent to the investigation and the lack of an empirical support. In sum, if the organization finds it is essential to have all workers enrolled and committed to the strategy to be executed, our recommendations is to implement the suggested proposals. It is also our conviction that this case study may offer great value to guide the organization throughout the implementation process.
