Abstract
The intervention of undercover agents – occult method for criminal investigationin which the provoking agents, the infiltrators and the plain-clothes agents may be
distinguished – is usually referred as “deceitful means” of evidence, which are
prohibited by the article 126º/2/a) of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The present work aims to delimitate the referred legal concept in order to determine whether undercover agents are admissible as a method of obtaining evidences in the Portuguese Criminal Procedure
