Faced with the reality experienced in recent years of the covid-19 pandemic, great focus was given to the category of health care workers, in particular to the implications with their health and safety. This dissertation addresses topics such as the context experienced by health care workers, the risk subsidy incurred paid to them, protective equipment, the classification of Covid-19 as a biological risk and even the problem of classifying professional contingencies arising from covid-19 such as an accident at work or an occupational disease. We will also analyse the admissibility of temperature control for workers, their mandatory vaccination and finally the impact of covid-19 on their mental health, as well as the guidelines of the European Commission for the time period 2021-2027.
