Abstract

The present study aims to examine the consequences that reward systems have on employees' perception of distributive justice. The relevance of this topic is debated due to the significant influence rewards hold in the job market, which is becoming increasingly competitive. The method employed in this study was qualitative meta-analysis, considering the extensive body of literature related to the subject under analysis. Through the research question: “How do perceptions of distributive justice regarding reward systems impact work and organizations?” a set of keywords was defined, and a search for scientific articles published between 2019 and 2023 was conducted in the “EBSCO” and “Web of Science” databases. Nineteen articles were identified based on pre-defined criteria. It was discovered that the perception of distributive justice regarding reward systems not only present positive consequences, highlighting, among others, organizational commitment, but also negative consequences, namely counterproductive behaviors.
