Implementação de dashboards de controlo e gestão de desempenho

: o caso Host Wise

Abstract

Management control makes it possible to synchronize personal and organizational objectives (Hewege, 2012). A performance dashboard can be used as a management control mechanism and is a powerful agent of organizational change as it focuses teams on the company’s key success factors (Eckerson, 2011) and, according to Pauwels et al. (2009), promotes situational awareness and business knowledge among users, allowing the company to adjust to this information in a timely manner with corrective actions, thus showing itself as a tool with a positive impact when implemented. The preparation of this Internship Report is based on the internship period carried out at the company Host Wise, a specialist in local accommodation management, with the aim to create dashboards that contribute to the performance management and control system already used in the company, in order to meet the information needs and facilitate workers' quick access to key performance indicators. With the analysis of the information already available in the company, it was possible to understand the needs for optimization or for the development of new databases that served as a source of data for the dashboards and reports created with the teams, which presented the key performance indicators. This project resulted in three dashboards and six area reports that fostered knowledge of the different performances within the company. Most of these results were well received by the teams and revealed a positive impact on the company's day-to-day activities, leading to the creation of value within the company.
