A quantitative methodological approach was used in this document, involving a questionnaire centred on assessing resident’s perceptions and preferences regarding MaaS, with a view to exploring the potential barriers and opportunities for implementing this approach in these urban contexts. The survey was aimed at residents of the Braga and Porto, with the aim of understanding their current mobility behaviours, preferences, and openness to adopting MaaS. The study reveals a strong dependence on private vehicles among residents, attributed to the convenience and flexibility they offer. However, there is a notable willingness to switch to more sustainable modes of transport, provided they meet users' expectations in terms of reliability, cost and convenience. The research indicates that the successful implementation of MaaS in the locations under study requires the resolution of significant challenges, including infrastructure limitations, cultural resistance to change and the integration of various transport services on a digital platform. This research underlines the critical need for adaptive, user-centred approaches. It emphasizes the importance of stakeholder collaboration, inclusive planning and harnessing digital technologies to overcome existing barriers to sustainable urban mobility. The results contribute to the enrichment of the study of the literature on the implementation of this type of mobility provides valuable information for urban planners, policy makers and transport services.
