Implementação de práticas Lean na empresa Élio Kayaks

Abstract

The implementation of Lean Thinking in a real company, is the main objective of the proposed work. Its positive impacts, as evidenced by numerous companies, can be remarkable and unfailing in reducing waste. At first a literature study is done based on this subject. What is the meaning of Lean Thinking, what is there for and how it can be used. The following stage is to see in a practical way what was learned previously. It is studied how and why and afterward applied to a real company – Élio Kayaks. It’s a family-owned company which dedicates its production to water sports more specifically canoes and kayaks. It is a portuguese company that exports and are well-known in nearly the whole world. The choice of different techniques to be adopted in Elio was essentially based on present failures in the production process. In the post, is planned and analyzed with the results so far obtained with the aim of maintaining and improving. It is relevant to note that when we implement Lean practices, those only achieve the success, if the administration has a firm commitment in finding and reducing waste.
