The present report is integrated in the study plan of the course unit “Final Internship and Report” of the Master’s Course in Nursing from the Nursing School (Lisbon), of the Institute of Health Sciences from the Portuguese Catholic University. The first internship elapsed at an Intensive and Intermediate Care Unit from a hospital in Lisbon and the second at a General Emergency Department from a hospital on the outskirts of Lisbon, this report is elaborated with the perspective of achieving the previously defined goals and document the activities developed over these. At the same time a preliminary analysis of the state of the art about the scientific evidence about nurses integration to the care of people in critical condition is made, mapping the knowledge about the difficulties felt by nurses and the strategies that ease their integrating process through a scoping review. The preliminary results were presented as a poster at a seminary and finally as an article, approved for publishing at a magazine.
