Abstract

Internationalization is an inexorable phenomenon in the business landscape, aligning itself with the quest for survival in a globalized and dynamic market. Alliances are pivotal strategies in this process, particularly when interconnected within a network of relationships. In this regard, the research seeks to comprehend the impact of internationalization on the global positioning of fashion, simultaneously analyzing the influence of alliances and strategic networks in this process. To address these research questions, a case study of Portugal Fashion will be developed, based on internal documents, interviews, and questionnaires with professionals directly involved in the project. The study concludes that Portugal Fashion's consistent and dedicated internationalization process has led Portugal to achieve notable recognition in the global fashion arena, currently integrating Portuguese brands into the official calendars of major fashion capitals. To achieve this, the formation and integration of various diversified alliances were crucial, capable of internationally propelling both the project and the Portuguese textile and clothing sector. The main contribution of this research lies in the exploration of contemporary concepts such as internationalization, alliances, and networks in a sector so traditional and vital for Portugal. By doing so, it offers new perspectives that can guide future research and strategies in the textile and clothing industry.
