The main objective of this study was to explore adolescent musicians9 perceptions of the effects of a combined intervention involving Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and fNIRS-based neurofeedback (fNIRS-NFBK) training in managing Music Performance Anxiety (MPA). Additionally, it enabled the development and preliminary evaluation of a neurofeedback training protocol using fNIRS, as well as the analysis of its combined action with CBT. Thus, through a multiple case study involving two female participants, their perceptions of the intervention's effectiveness and its physiological, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral impacts were analyzed. The results indicate that both participants experienced improvements in managing MPA, particularly in terms of perceived control, cognitive restructuring, and physiological and emotional self-regulation. It is worth noting that the group sessions were valued for promoting emotional normalization and social support, while the neurofeedback training enabled the real-time identification and regulation of physiological anxiety patterns. Despite the limitations related to the small sample size and the exploratory nature of the study, the findings suggest the feasibility and potential of the combined intervention in promoting psychological well-being and performance in young musicians.
