Abstract

Bullying is a worldwide problem that deserves every attention from educational agents and society due to the higher prevalence in schools and the harmful consequences on diverse stakeholders. Bullying is a type of violence that need to be understood and, without thinking on a hypothetical illusion of being erased, the society have to find ways to manage, control and, in particular, avoid this harmful kind of behavior. According to the National School Health Program, there should be an investment in promoting healthy lifestyles on these type of risk behaviors and training of the entire educational community. This project was developed in a Primary School, within the School Health program from their Care Unit in the Community. It came from a need identified by the school team at an expert meeting and had the general objective of contributing to the increase of knowledge about the problem of bullying in the educational community (students, teachers, operational assistants and charge of education). Community Nursing intervention in this public health problem is a priority, focusing on the development socioemotional skills of children and the sensitization of the educational community. This project "baptized" with the name of "Bem me quero, mal não quero” (“Loves me, loves me not”) was developed based on the methodology of Health Planning, taking into account as a theoretical reference from the Nola Pender Health Promotion Model and the Social and Emotional Learning. It contributed to the training of the educational community through the increase of knowledge for the prevention of bullying and the development of socioemotional skills in these children. This project was the first of this kind at the Community Care Unit and will be replicated to all 4thgrade children by the school health nurses. In general, this academic intervention contributed to the development of a personal and professional stage within a Master and Nurse Specialist program in Community Health.
