This report evidence the main contributions of the Internship, within the School of NursingMaster of Specialization in Medical-Surgical Nursing, held in the Intensive Care Unit and anEmergency Service, for the development of clinical skills in assisting the person in critical situation and experiencing processes of sudden health / illness.It aims to document the learning done during the Internship, through the synthesis capacity andanalysis critical-reflexive, and lead to obtaining the Master degree.As methodology, presents the descriptive and reflective method. Structurally, address thevarious domains of competence to acquire / develop, are given the powers proposed by thesyllabus of the course and described the activities undertaken to achieve them, throughpersonal reflection of experienced situations, based on bibliographic reference.Describes the process of teaching/ learning as a strategy, not only for skills development, butalso as a means for sharing information derived from professional experience and graduatedegrees, contributing to the personal and professional development of other nurses, bypromoting in-service training within the context of acute pain in the Emergency Service. Relatethe activities targeted to adult, elderly person and family, in accordance with ethics andprofessional deontology, evaluating, adapting and applying the different methods for analyzingcomplex situations. It highlights the difficulties found as moments of learning and reflection, within the strategies of communication with family and ill-ventilated, and use of computerized information systems in nursing. Shows the applicability of the conceptual model in nursing practice, by developing a case study. Exposes the importance of evidence-based practice, through the analysis of protocols, standards and procedures in order to verify its scientific validation, suggesting, also, some changes / updates that have been accepted, promoting health care quality and safety practices.Concludes that the Internship provided the acquisition / development of knowledge and multiple skills for decision making in providing more specialized care, global and humanized to patient and family, in the context of area of specialization and personal and professional development, to improve the quality of care.
