With decreasing confidence in retributive and rehabilitative models of the criminal justice system, restorative justice model has to show an appealing alternative (Lee, 2009). This study aims to address the restorative justice in the educational tutelary system, seeking to know the placement of professionals on restorative practices and their perspective on the experiences of young offenders in these approaches. In order to meet the goals placed, proceeded to the analysis of the positioning of six (6) participants, all professionals who develop their activity with young offenders. Eventually we realize that there is some uncertainty and lack of clarity in the definition provided of restorative justice. Although professionals consider the implementation of these practices as an added value, this still reveals something premature in Portugal. This study was to elucidate contribution about the placement of professionals on the implementation of restorative measures and the associated benefits for young offenders.
