Leftover memories

Abstract

This report was conceived from the desire to understand the concept of memory and how memories are able to be transmitted between people. Not only that, but it is also important to explore how memories are created and how photography aids in creating and keeping them. This thought process stems from the photographic project titled Leftover Memories, made in the context of the final project of the Photography Master’s Degree from Escola das Artes. The project itself is an homage to my grandparents and to the towns they were born in, showing a modernisation of sentimental locations while also explaining the concept of nostalgia.
