In this thesis we want to respond to the main question «How the moviment of laypeople, attached to the Congregations raised in Portugal after the Second Vatican Council, have been envolved in mission activity in Africa»? The first chapter will address the apostolate of lay people, in the perspective of the Second Council of Vatican. On the other hand, we will address how the question of development and independence of the nations, became an importante idea of the mission. Also on the same chapter, we will address the historical path of mission in Africa, after the Second Council of vatican. The second chapter will address the context of the Catholic Church of Portugal, and the historical path of Portuguese mission in Africa. The third chapter will address how the masculine religious congregations in Portugal, have been envolving lay people in mission dinamics in Africa, showing up the activity carried out by these moviment of lay people. Finally, we will address the similarities and differences, of these new moviments of lay people.
