Abstract

Organizations are daily faced with countless imaginable challenges, which are increasingly difficult, complicated, and problematic. Globalization and economic, social, and environmental changes force a new alignment of the organization’s goals, to survive in the global market. For companies to be able to remain competitive it is necessary to bet on their leaders and their employees.Leadership plays a key role in the success or failure of an organization. Leaderships at any level of the organization’s hierarchy impacts the organization’s future. Middle leaders play a crucial role, they are the link between the top leadership and the rest of the chain. Having as main objective to analyze the leadership styles of intermediate leaders in an organization of the manufacturing sector, an investigation of mixed typology, qualitative and quantitative was developed. The data was collected through an interview survey directed to the leaders, total of 5 and questionnaire inquiry directed to the collaborators of the team of each leader, total of 99. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and the Kruskal-Wallis test and Mann-Whitney test. The results obtained show that although there are small divergences in the leader’s view of himself and the vision that the teams have, they are nor significant, furthermore it was found that professional variables influence mora the perception that one has about the leader than the personal variables. According to the results obtained, we believe that, at the business level, the organization should focus on training its leaders to foster a better relationship between leader and team and a better flow of communication.
