Abstract

It is possible to observe a growing concern of competition law with the most varied areas, including sport. Our research aims to analyze the evolution of the application of competition law in sporting activities, since the creation of this branch of law in the European Union, through several cases decided by the Courts of the EU over the years. The media issue of the European Super League and the case of no-poaching agreements are the two main examples analyzed and show that competition law has a direct impact on current problems. We conclude that there was an evolution in the application of competition law in sport and that the adaptations to which it was subjected kept it relevant in the resolution of the most diverse issues.
