This dissertation investigates and analyses he construction of a fight scene in animation, with real image action movie‟s influence. This paper searches for answers about the narrative structure of a fight scene, and what is the physical and technical elements‟ approach in a scene of this nature. The theoretical research presented here, will be analyzed in five animation fight sequences: the fight between the characters Naruto e Sasuke, from the animated TV show “Naruto” (episode 130, 131, 132, 133 and 134) Studio Pierrot; the fight between The Furious Five and Tai Lung from the movie “Kung Fu Panda” (2008) Dream Works; the fight scene between Tifa Lockhart and Loz, from the movie “Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children” (2005) from the Japanese producer Square Enix Company; the fight between Raphael and Leonardo from the movie “TMNT” (2007) from Warner Brothers; and the fight between Neo and various Agents Smith in the movie “ The Matrix Reloaded” (2003), which is mainly 3D animation. These analyses will help to understand if animation puts in practice the theory used in regular cinema. The short film animation “ Old Moon” , attached to this dissertation, was made to put in practice the studied theory, the goal being to make a fight scene with narrative depth and appeling to viewers at the same time. When using what was studied in the fight scene, was possible to understand new animation techniques and be more aware of the rhythm and structure of a scene that portrays physical conflict.
