Abstract

This report aims to trace our career path and is based on a principle that we always embraced: the reflection, action and sharing, not always carried out in this order, but always with reflection as main point. Aware that the ground on which educational activities develops is complex, we present ourselves stripped of pretensions but ambitious in questions and searching for better and more appropriate educational responses for students with special educational needs. Thus, based on our Curriculum Vitae, diverse, and guided by modest demand of knowledge construction through the reflection of the practice, regardless of the level of education we were in, but as a way of being in education, we try to give special emphasis to the last years, in which we perform teaching duties in special education and in its coordination. We approach, without great pretensions, but with awareness and accuracy, some questions concerning the unifying theme of our work, such as hyperactivity and attention deficit, learning disabilities, medicalization, pathologization and inclusion. As it would be unthinkable not to mention significant experience, we report a case of a student diagnosed with hyperactivity and attention deficit, giving an account of our educational intervention in a process of deep integration with other professionals. Finally, we present the experience of a group reflection, the result of the path our concerns have led us to and in which we remain in a state of permanent discovery.
