This thesis analyses the subject matter of remedies that may be adopted by the European Commission on the basis of Articles 7 and 9 of Regulation 1/2003 in cases of infringement to Article 102 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union – abuse of a dominant position. The purpose of the thesis is to identify the limits to theCommission’s activity and the paths it may take when adopting remedies in abuse of dominance cases. With this purpose in mind, we have analysed the objectives and functions of remedies, the principles to which they abide and the procedures that may be followed. We have also analysed specific cases of remedies actually adopted in order toevaluate whether its adoption depends on the type of abuse, the type of market and the type of procedure.
